Two packs of cocaine washed the sea in Skiathos beach. The drugs were found by volunteers from environmental and other organizations, who cleaned the beach and handed over one to the Port Authority of the island, and the other, because they did not know what it was about, they threw it in the trash…

When the port officials received a package with high quality cocaineas evidenced by the chemical analyzes, were informed that there was a second one in the rubbish bin, which they found.

Relevant case file completed the Skiathos Port Authority, which has already been handed over to the Volos Prosecutor’s Office, which in turn will forward it to the interrogation. The two packages of cocaine, weighing about 2.5 kg (1.2 kg each), with the drug, however, having gotten wet, a sign that were many days at sea, were made of plastic and looked like videotapes. They were tied with adhesive tapes on top.

The packages were found by volunteer members of environmental organizations, who cleaned it beach of Ag. Panteleimon north of Skiathos, on April 20.

One was immediately handed over to the port authorities, the other, however, was thrown in the garbage, from where it was then picked up by the port authorities. The Skiathos Port Authority, which is investigating the case, is trying to link the two packages of cocaine with another or other cases of drug trafficking during the last quarter in an island or area of ​​Northern Greece, although there is a possibility to throw them from a passing shipafraid of control.
