Opinion – Gross Kitchen: R$ 1,799 Picanha: from Gusttavo Lima’s refrigerator to Bolsonaro

by

What do they have in common helicopter with a giant photo of Jair Bolsonaro that flew over Goiânia and the R$ 1,799/kg picanha that the president ate on Mother’s Day in 2021? The singer Gusttavo Lima, whose exorbitant contracts with city halls in the interior are being investigated for irregular use of public funds.

Gusttavo is a partner at Frigorífico Goiás, which sold the wagyu beef steak at a stratospheric price and a Bolsonaro meme on the packaging. He is also the main poster boy for the brand, which is openly in favor of the occupant of the presidency.

The sertanejo joined the founder of the meatpacking plant, Leandro Nóbrega, and since last year has helped to sell butcher franchises across the country.

On Friday (27), during Bolsonaro’s visit to the capital, Goiânia, the meatpacking plant wrapped a helicopter with the president’s image and placed it to fly over the entourage’s route.

Seeing his concert schedule scrutinized, Gusttavo did a live in which he cried, said he was a victim of persecution and felt like “throwing in the towel”. He received solidarity from people like his first son Flávio Bolsonaro and Minister of Communications Fábio Faria.
