Greece is one of the only four European countries to submit a national report, which will be officially presented in July at the UN headquarters.

He must move from a proprietary concept that characterizes many countries to a new perception that “we are guests on this planet, that we must pass it on to the younger generations, if not better, in the same condition as before,” he said.

Ultimately, there must be a long-term commitment from all countries, all governments in a decadearound these 17 goals, which concern not only the protection of the environment, but also the economy, equality and inequality, health, education, every dimension of our existence on the planet, the Minister of State also explained.

Greece, Mr. Skertsos pointed out, is remarkably one of only four European countries that have submitted a national report, which will be officially presented in July at the UN headquarters.

At the same time, he referred to the improvement recorded in the individual indicators: for example, the declining course of poverty after social transfers, the reduction of income inequalities to pre-economic levels, the reduction of the percentage of people living in inadequate housing, the active period dropping out of education, more than tripling the number of women on board, reducing the pay gap between men and women, reducing the number of fatal road accidents, and more than doubling the share of renewable energy sources in energy consumption and cooling-heating.
