Not one, not two but more than 150 frauds have been reported to the police department of Crete since the beginning of the year, with unsuspecting victims of citizens of all ages.

And despite the barrage of publications announcing other cases, it seems that there are many who are not informed as a result of falling victim to perpetrators whose sole purpose is to extract money.

One such case is that of a woman in Heraklion who in a few seconds saw wings fluttering from her bank account, 18,000 euros!

She pretended to be her accountant

According to the complaint that the 58-year-old made to the Authorities a few hours ago, a man who pretended to be her accountant called her.

Under the pretext, as the man on the other end of the line told her, that he was entitled to money from a subsidy for electricity, he persuaded her to enter her e-banikng and deposit the amount of 18,000 euros to an unknown beneficiary.

Of course, this beneficiary was none other than the swindler himself who became 18,000 euros richer.

It is recalled that a few days ago Authorities located and arrested a man who is said to be behind the case of fraud with a businessman in Heraklion.
