Persecution of the 60-year-old who kept 16 dogs in miserable conditions in her apartment

He was driven to the car the 60-year-old, who was arrested following complaints of miserable living conditions which had imposed on 16 dogs, inside her apartment, in Toumpa, Thessaloniki.

The 60-year-old was charged with failure to comply with animal welfare rules (serial), breeding and keeping of pets in a commercial form and violation of the sanitary regulations. Alongside, the prosecutor ordered a preliminary investigation by the police to investigate any other offenses in relation to the same case, as well as the involvement of other persons.

After the legal postponement received by the 60-year-old from the Autophorous Three-Member Misdemeanor Court of Thessaloniki, she was released.

According to the announcement of the Police, during the on-site inspection, 16 dogs were found inside the apartment (both in cages and outside them), while the general picture of the house was very dirty. It is characteristic that it was emerging stenchinsects were hovering in all areas and there was dirt, both indoors and on the balcony.

Also, as EL.AS notes, the spaces of the apartment were not enough for the animals to make movements adapted to their natural way of life, while the cages where some of them were located were small in size.
