Once the application is approved, the consumer will receive a password electronically on the mobile phone corresponding to the subsidy to which he is entitled and will buy the device at the discounted price from the store of his choice (if participating in the program). He will also be obliged to hand over the old device for recycling.
Every household that joins the program will be able to replace up to three electrical appliances (up to 2 air conditioners, a refrigerator or a freezer) for the main or secondary residence, privately owned or leased.
Inclusion criteria include income and the number of family members with additional scoring for single parents and families with disabilities.
An important element of the process is to ensure the recycling, under the responsibility of the dealer, of the old device which will be marked with a special QR code as well as to ensure the installation of a new device of high energy class.
The program will benefit 200,000 households and more than 380,000 devices will be recycled. The average energy savings for each household is estimated at 1,000 KWh per year. This means that a household with medium consumption, up to 5,000 KWh per year, is expected to achieve up to 25% energy savings.
