Changes in in vitro fertilization, but also in cryopreservation of eggs, brings a bill of the Ministry of Health that was submitted for consultation

The draft law of the Ministry of Health “Reforms in Medically Assisted Reproduction” was submitted for consultation.

The draft law seeks to reform the framework for medical assistance to human reproduction and to establish a legal framework capable of meeting modern social requirements for medical assistance in childbearing.

At the same time, a legal framework is established capable of ensuring the fundamental human rights of intersex people and ensuring the smooth development of their gender and personality.

In more detail:

– the framework of medically assisted reproduction is modernized and women’s rights are guaranteed

– the age limit of women who can resort to medically assisted reproduction is increased from the age of 50 to the age of 54, based on international scientific data and the increase in life expectancy.

– Egg cryopreservation is allowed not only for medical but also for social reasons, enabling women to keep their eggs and use them whenever they wish

– the required consent of the husband for the cryopreservation of eggs by the woman who wishes it is abolished

– the divorced woman is allowed to use her cryopreserved eggs without the consent of her husband / partner.

– people with HIV are given the opportunity for assisted reproduction.
