The incident occurred on Thessaloniki at noon on Thursday. According to information from Thestival, the 11-year-old boarded the city bus line 84 a few meters away from his house, in Drymos, in order to go to a relative’s shop in Melissochori. The specific route is served by buses of “KTEL Thessaloniki SA” on behalf of OSETH.
A few kilometers away, in the center of Melissochori, the driver stopped the vehicle and asked the minor boy to wear a protective mask against the coronavirus. The 11-year-old replied that he did not have a mask with him. Then the driver asked him to get off the bus.

Shortly afterwards, the boy’s relative, who was waiting for him in his shop, called his mother to inform him that the 11-year-old had not yet arrived. The mother called her son and was informed of what had happened. He then notified their relative to pick him up. Meanwhile, the minor started walking to his house without informing anyone. For for the next 45 minutes no one could contact him. Eventually, his mother located him in a deserted area, near the Forest. He had walk 3 km in hot weather.
When the father of the child was informed about the incident, he filed a lawsuit against the driver at the Oreokastro Security Department. Police located and arrested the driver. By order of the prosecutor, the procedure of the highway was followed and the driver is detained. A case was filed against him for exposing a minor to danger. He is expected to be taken to the competent prosecutor’s office
