Demonstration was held by refugees living in the structure of Eleonas and employees of the structure.
They held a demonstration refugees residing in structure of Eleonas and structure workers this afternoon from camp to Ministry of Immigration and Asylum.
THE mobilization was organized with demands not to close the structure, not to interrupt the support services provided by the organizations and social workers active in Eleonas and not to lay off employees.
The march was attended by representatives of municipal factions of the Municipality of Athens, the Movement United Against Racism and the Fascist Threat, the Workers’ Initiative in the Eleonas Structure and the Eleonas Refugee Committee. SYRIZA MP Nikos Filis also took part.
After the mobilization, a meeting of representatives of the refugees and her took place ΚΕΕΡΦΑ with officials of the Reception and Identification Service, to whom the requests were submitted not to close the structure, if the residents, most of them vulnerable, are not transferred first, to apartments in Athens, and the employees are not fired.
