Thessaloniki: Eight immigrants held hostage in ground floor apartment – Three traffickers arrested

According to what the victims testified, they had entered the Greek territory illegally in the previous 24 hours, paying 1500 euros (each), while the ransom they were asked to pay amounted to 500 euros, for each.

Eight immigrants were taken hostage by their traffickersmost of them from Morocco, who had just entered Greek territory, as it seems that they were illegally detained in a ground floor apartment in the area of ​​Kassandros, in the center of Thessaloniki, until they paid a ransom to be released.

The new incident of abduction and hostage-taking of illegal immigrants was revealed when one of the detainees contacted a representative of a Non-Governmental Organization, who in turn addressed the Police. This was followed by an operation by the Thessaloniki Directorate of Foreigners in the “prison” apartment, where the eight hostages were located and released, while their three traffickers (24, 26 and 23 years old), originally from Palestine, Syria and Albania, were arrested.
