“I did not try to strangle the child. It was drowning and I put my fingers to save it “. These are the words of the 35-year-old to the police who is accused by his 34-year-old partner of trying to drown their one year old baby.
The incident occurred shortly after 11:00 in the morning on June 29 in the area of Omonia.
The father was holding a one-year-old baby in his arms, while at one point he put his fingers in the child’s mouth.
Passers-by watching the incident were afraid that the child would drown, while the calmer ones intervened, and after immobilizing him, they took the baby from his arms.
On the same day, the mother of the infant resorted to the security of AT Omonia and specifically to the domestic violence department, who filed a lawsuit against the 35-year-old claiming that the 35-year-old snatched the baby by the throat and put his fingers in his mouth to drown.
According to police sources, the couple is facing many problems betweenwhile the investigation has been undertaken by the department of domestic violence.
