Sarigiannis to SKAI: 80% immunity wall at the end of the year

by

The estimate that by the end of the year the wall of immunity will reach 80% was expressed by the professor of Environmental Engineering of the Aristotle University of Thessaloniki, Demosthenes Sarigiannis. Speaking to SKAI and the show “Kalimera”, he stated that at the end of the year we will have reached 65% of the total population to be fully vaccinated and together with a 15% that we estimate will have acquired natural immunity through disease, we will have succeeded a total of 80% and we will approach the wall of immunity “.

At the same time, Mr. Sarigiannis pointed out that two days ago the peak of this wave of the pandemic was recorded and now the fall has begun. “We have been in decline for the last two days and the breeding number is below the unit. The models show that we will continue to have a decline. “The problem is the management of de-escalation,” he noted.

In this context, he said that the use of the mask should be implemented outdoors, to change the institutional framework for distances in education and to increase teleworking so that there is less mobility in transport.
