The index of hospitalizations with coronavirus in the country’s hospitals, as stated by the president of EINAP Matina Pagoni speaking on SKAI and on the show “Today”.
As she noted, the increase recorded in hospital admissions exceeds 40%, while non-covid beds have been converted to covid in all hospitals. “There’s a panic going on,” he added. He also emphasized that the actual cases are much more than what is declared.
The patients who arrive at the hospitals, as Ms. Pagonis, are people with underlying diseases due to complications caused by the Omicron BA4/5 mutations, which he however described as less dangerous but more contagious.
As regards to use of the mask characteristically stated that it “must be in our suitcase” in view of the holidays and to be used in crowded spaces both indoor and outdoor. “We have to adapt to have a nice vacation. There is no need for compulsion for someone to know when to put on the mask and when not,” he commented.
He also estimated that in August the virus will show ups and downs, but that there will be no panic.
