Lamia: The body of a 31-year-old man is frozen and an autopsy cannot be performed

Some seem to be “playing” with the pain of the family who wants to bury him 31-year-old electrocuted at noon on Friday (8/7) in the west Fthiotida and lost his life.

The 31-year-old met a tragic death while clearing power lines from tree branches.

His people, in their unbearable pain, for the unexpected evil that befell them, from one moment to the next, also have to deal with the painlessness of the forensic service of Lamia, since Mrs. Akrivousi refused to do the necropsy – necropsy on Friday afternoon and ordered that the body be placed in cold storage until Monday.

And after waiting all weekend, when Monday came they were told to wait another two or three days because the body froze and the autopsy cannot be performed.

We remind you that in the past, a 45-year-old man had remained unburied for 27 whole days, while many relatives suffered with the “mischief” of the Forensic Service of Lamia, which all these years has not been functioning properly, but the ministry does not dare to intervene and provide a solution to the problem .

Two MPs of New Democracy, Konstantinos Kontogeorgos from Evrytania and Giorgos Kotronias from Fthiotida, submitted a report to the Minister of Justice on the matter. In fact, Mr. Kotronias has also intervened in the past regarding the unacceptable operation of the Forensic Service of Lamia.

Mr. Minister,

On the occasion of a recent industrial accident, which occurred on Friday, July 8, 2022 at lunchtime, in Marmara Fthiotidos, with the victim being a 31-year-old Evrytana man, and the treatment of the whole incident by the Medical Examiner of Lamia, we are reporting the following:

After the accident, the unfortunate young man was taken to the Makrakomi Health Center, where he was pronounced dead. The Sperchiada Police Department informed the Medical Examiner, Ms. Akrivousi Apostolia (at 4:45 p.m.), who ordered the body of the unfortunate young man to be transferred and kept in a cold room at the Lamia General Hospital for a necropsy.

The tragic parents and close relatives of the unfortunate young man, begged that the autopsy process be expedited for obvious reasons, or that they be given permission to transfer their man to another Forensic Service, in order to end their ordeal (as long as that can happen). .

Unfortunately, for the umpteenth time, the Medical Examiner of Lamia, with pretexts and excuses, decided to carry out the autopsy on Monday, July 11, 2022 and prohibited the transfer of the unfortunate young man to another Forensic Service, prolonging the torture of the parents, relatives and friends.

And as if all this wasn’t enough, on Monday July 11, 2022 at 9:00, he announced, through an employee, that the autopsy will take place after two or three days (because the body was frozen), bringing to the brink of madness and the despair of parents, relatives and the whole of our small local community.

Mr. Minister,

Based on the above and because it is the umpteenth time that this particular State Servant is acting as they please and not with the laws and moral rules of respect for our dead fellow human beings, who need to be buried after several days, you must take the necessary steps actions, based on your responsibilities, in order to restore the correct, humane and full operation of the Forensic Service of Lamia, which, for a decade, has been suffering unimaginably to the citizens of three prefectures.

You must also take into account the fact that no employee or support staff wishes to serve in this Service.
