These are six stray dogs, as well as one controlled one.
Faced with a hideous sight came yesterday morning, residents of the village Georgianin the municipality of Pangaios in Kavala, when they found that a stranger who had filled various parts of the village with dens, caused the death of six stray dogsas well and in a dominated.
The president of the Philanthropic Association of N. Iraklitsa and D. Pangaios “Noe”, Christos Pallikaras, received the complaints about the mass killings, who, speaking to GRTimes, said that this is a very unpleasant but common phenomenon in the villages of the Regional Unity Kavala and in particular the municipality of Pangaios.
“Only we, as the Animal Welfare Association, in the last two years have made more than ten similar posts about mass killings of animals by dens. In this case of Georgiana, a man caused the death of six strays, as well as a controlled dog. A resident of the village still can’t believe that the daily walk she took with her dog in the park of Georgiani would end in his death, due to a nest. Something must be done urgently, before it is too late, we have emphasized this a thousand times. All the relevant authorities have been informed and we hope that a solution will be found.”
Referring to the solutions that can exist in order to eliminate such phenomena, Mr. Pallikaras notes to GRTimes, that there should be a better record of the strays that exist in villages, better policing and control and of course everyone should take responsibility of. I am sure that every village knows this one who fills every corner with nests. They are closed societies, everyone knows each other. It’s just that most people are afraid to proceed with an official complaint to avoid further problems. For example yesterday, I was notified about three stray dogs in N. Iraklitsa, which were showing an aggressive behavior. But the same people who reported their presence were also the ones who, the previous day, saw a car leaving the dogs in question in the village in question. That’s why I mention that everyone must take their responsibilities.”
“In the case of Georgiana, we have taken all the necessary actions so that the perpetrator is identified and made to pay for his act. However, it is good not to expect everything from the animal welfare. Anyone who sees something must report it,” concludes Mr. Pallikaras.
