One fatal mistake by the underage driver at the 95th kilometer of the national highway Corinth – Tripoli, at the height of Spathovouni, was the cause of the new one tragedy written in blood on the Greek streets.
The tragic toll was two dead and three injured, one of them seriously, with doctors fighting to keep the 15-year-old alive.
The accident happened when the 15-year-old reversed because he missed the exit. The vehicle driven by the 15-year-old was moving towards Corinth, but made a mistake and passed the exit.
When he realized this, the driver decided to reverse – although he was driving in the left lane – so that he could exit the exit and continue to his destination.
The 15-year-old did not see that another vehicle was following him, whose driver did not have time to react, resulting in the two vehicles collide violently.
The underage driver is in surgery
The 15-year-old driver was rushed to the “Agia Sophia” Children’s Hospital with brain injuries and several fractures, while he entered the operating room for their treatment.
However, doctors did not have to intubate him, so they hope he will be able to overcome his injuries.
The 17-year-old passenger of the vehicle was hit in the middle and is being treated at the Corinth hospital, while the 69-year-old British driver of the other car was slightly injured.
A 17-year-old boy and an 18-year-old girl were the two dead.
