The forces of the Fire Department in Penteli, Megara and Salamina remain strong and fully alert during the night in order to operate wherever needed.

In Megara, the fire that broke out shortly before 2 in the afternoon in an agroforestry area in the Veniza area of ​​Megara presents a much better picture and according to the Fire Department there is no active front at the moment. 95 firefighters with 3 groups of hikers, 34 vehicles remain at the scene, while assistance is provided by volunteer firefighters and local water bodies.

The fire broke out at 1:41 p.m., while at 2:35 p.m. a message was sent via 112 to the residents of the Zahouli settlement to move away from the area as a precaution and head towards Alepochori. Just before 6 p.m. a second message was sent from 112 to the residents in the settlement of Papagianneika Megara to do the same and head towards Megara.

At the same time, the fires on Windmills Hill and Samari in Salamina have been brought under control, while the fire on Patris Hill presents a much better picture as there is currently no active front. 26 firefighters with 12 vehicles are trying to extinguish the fire, while there is assistance from volunteer firefighters. Also, 12 firefighters with 5 vehicles traveled from Piraeus to Salamina by ferry.

In addition, the fire that broke out on the afternoon of Tuesday, July 19, in Penteli, remains in remission, with the forces of the Fire Department remaining strong in order to bring it under full control. Ground forces of the Fire Department remain on alert at the scene while assistance is provided by forces allocated by the General Staff of the National Defense, the local government with project machinery and OTA water carriers, a large force of volunteer firefighters, volunteers of the Civil Protection teams, EL.AS. and the EKAV.
