“We have arrested 40 people in different parts of Peru. They belong to a ring with 255 members in 17 countries of the world,” says the announcement of the prosecution.

Peruvian police on Wednesday arrested 40 people accused of being members of an international child pornography ring, which – according to the prosecution – is run by the US and Europe.

“We have arrested 40 people in different parts of Peru. They belong to a ring with 255 members in 17 countries of the world,” says the announcement of the prosecution.

Those arrested belong to an organization called “Deep Porn” and allegedly trafficked pornographic images starring children aged 10-16.

According to the prosecution, the ring – created in 2019 – used social media such as WhatsApp to distribute photos and videos.

The administrators come from Europe, the United States and Ecuador, according to the same source.

“We are in contact with foreign governments,” prosecutor Jorge Chavez, who led the investigation in the capital Lima, told reporters. He said the ring had sold more than 10,000 child pornography photos and videos online.
