A police operation, in the presence of a judicial officer, was completed, following a relevant Prosecutor’s order, in a six-story building owned by EFKA, located on Egnatia Street no. 111, which has been occupied for the last seven (7) years by people from the anti-authoritarian space.
In the operation, which took place in the morning hours today (22-07-2022), a bulletproof vest, wooden poles, a crowbar, knives, helmets, anti-suffocation masks, fire extinguishers, a portable wireless network device and an improvised operational manual for the organization were found and confiscated in the premises of the building , training and action of anti-authoritarian groups.
In addition, from an inspection carried out by DEDDIE and EYATH S.A. crews. cases of electricity theft and water theft were found, while the area will be disinfected by a competent workshop of the Municipality of Thessaloniki.
Police officers from the Directorates of Security, Police Operations, Immediate Action and Traffic of Thessaloniki, the Sub-Directorate of Special Police Forces of Northern Greece and the Sub-Directorate of Criminal Investigations of Northern Greece participated in the operation.
A preliminary investigation is carried out by the Thessaloniki Security Directorate.
Takis Theodorikakos: “Another wave of illegality, the occupation of 111, is over”!
With his posting on his personal social networking accounts, the Minister of Citizen Protection Takis Theodorikakos referred to the successful targeted operation of the Hellenic Police in Thessaloniki, where, in the presence of a prosecutor, a seven-year occupation of a six-story building belonging to the Unified Social Security Agency (EFKA) was ended.
In the building which was occupied by unknown people from the wider anti-authoritarian space, water theft and electricity theft were confirmed, while it was found that its rooms had been turned into a bar and a gym.
