Weather: With high temperatures for another 48 hours, falling from Friday

With high temperatures, which in places will reach 40 degrees Celsius, the weather will “walk” in the next 48 hours. From Friday, however, the gradual drop in temperature begins, with further de-escalation from Monday.

More detailed weather forecast for Wednesday:

Generally clear weather. In the continental regions, in the midday and afternoon hours, local clouds will develop and rain and isolated storms will occur in Macedonia, Epirus and possibly in the rest of the mountains. The winds will blow, variable 3 to 4 Beaufort in the Ionian and 5 to 6 Beaufort north in the Aegean. The temperature will remain high.

MACEDONIA, THRACE
Weather: Generally sunny in Thrace. In Macedonia it will initially be clear, but from midday clouds will develop in places and rain and isolated storms will occur mainly in western and central Macedonia in the afternoon hours.
Winds: Variable 2 to 4 Beaufort.
Temperature: From 22 to 37 degrees Celsius. In western Macedonia the minimum will be 3 to 4 degrees lower.

IONIAN ISLANDS, EPIROS, WEST STEREA, WEST PELOPONNISOS
Weather: Generally clear. In the midday and afternoon hours, temporary clouds will develop in the continental areas and in Epirus and possibly in the rest of the mountains, rain and isolated storms will occur.
Winds: Variable 3 to 4 and noon-afternoon in the south locally west northwest to 5 Beaufort.
Temperature: From 22 to 39 and in places 40 and on the Ionian Islands up to 36 degrees Celsius. In Epirus the minimum will be 2 to 3 degrees lower.

THESSALIA, EASTERN Mainland, EASTERN PELOPONNISUS
Weather: Generally clear. In the midday and afternoon hours, clouds will develop mainly in the mountains where rain and isolated storms will occur in Thessaly and possibly in the rest.
Winds: Variable 3 to 4 Beaufort and in the East and South North Northeast to 5 Beaufort.
Temperature: From 22 to 38 and in places up to 39 degrees Celsius.

CYCLADES, CRETE
Weather: Clear.
Winds: Northerly 5 to 6 Beaufort.
Temperature: From 24 to 34 and in Crete up to 37 degrees Celsius.

EAST AEGEAN ISLANDS – DODECANISE
Weather: Clear.
Winds: Northerly 5 to 6 Beaufort.
Temperature: From 24 to 38 and in places 39 degrees Celsius.

EUBOEA
Weather: Generally clear.
Winds: Northerly 3 to 4 and south local 5 to 6 Beaufort.
Temperature: From 23 to 36 degrees Celsius.

ATTICA
Weather: Generally clear.
Winds: Northeast 3 to 4 and in the east 5 Beaufort.
Temperature: From 25 to 39 degrees Celsius. At the seaside, the maximum will be 3 to 4 degrees lower.

THESSALONIKI
Weather: Generally clear with temporary clouds at midday and mainly in the afternoon, when rain and possibly isolated storms will occur in the surrounding mountains.
Winds: Variable 2 to 4 Beaufort.
Temperature: From 22 to 36 degrees Celsius.

Forecast for Thursday

In Macedonia, Epirus and Thessaly, a few locally increased clouds, mainly in the midday and afternoon hours, when local showers and sporadic storms will occur. The effects are likely to be temporary and intense in places. In the rest of the country, generally clear weather and only in the midday and afternoon hours in the mainland, clouds will develop in places and there will be local rains and mainly isolated storms in the mountains.
The winds on the seas will blow from north directions in the Ionian 3 to 5 and in the Aegean 5 to 6 and from the afternoon locally 7 Beaufort.
The temperature will drop slightly in the north where it is predicted to reach 34 to 36 degrees. In the rest of the mainland the temperature will reach 37 to 38 degrees and locally in lowland areas of Thessaly and Sterea 39 degrees Celsius, while in most island areas 35 to 37 degrees.

Generally clear weather. In the midday and afternoon hours, clouds will develop in the continental areas and in the central and northern highlands there will be local showers and possibly isolated thunderstorms.
Winds will blow from north directions 4 to 5 and in the eastern continental and Aegean 5 to 7 Beaufort.
The temperature will drop slightly in the east and north.

Generally clear weather. Clouds will develop in the continental areas during the midday and afternoon hours and local rain will occur in the central and northern highlands.
Winds will blow from north directions 3 to 5 and in the Aegean 6 and locally up to 7 Beaufort.
The temperature will not change appreciably and will reach the continental 37 to 38 degrees Celsius in some places.
