Larissa: 53-year-old man pulled down his 17-year-old granddaughter’s underwear

A 53-year-old man was sentenced to 10 months in prison (with a three-year suspension) yesterday, by the Single-member Criminal Court of Larisa, who was accused of sexual indecency, following a complaint by a 17-year-old woman.

The 53-year-old, who is his brother grandfather of the 17-year-oldand his minor granddaughter, were at his holiday home on the coast of Larissa prefecture last weekend, but upon their return the 17-year-old’s mother reported to the Larissa Security Sub-Directorate that the 53-year-old beat her daughter, as a result of which he was arrested and yesterday brought before the Court.

Where the mother of the 17-year-old in her testimony recounted the events as her daughter narrated them to her, while the 53-year-old did the same in his apology, only that the two sides presented the events from different perspectives.

The 17-year-old complained that her grandfather he tamed her while they slept in the same bed, and the 53-year-old that the minor was the one who provoked him, denying what was reported against him.

The 53-year-old called his decision to download it his mistake pants and the underwear of the 17-year-old and kicking her out of bed, abandoning her for her “recklessness”.

The accused accepts the act, he did not pull down the underwear of the minor, emphasized the prosecutor of the seat, proposing the guilt of the 53-year-old for the charge of insulting sexual dignity since no other act emerged from both the preliminary investigation and the hearing.

Noting, however, “it’s not the first time I’ve heard of someone pulling down a minor’s pants and underwear as a means of discretion.” The president of the Court finally declared the 53-year-old guilty, imposing a 10-month prison sentence suspended for three years.
