To the Electrical Engineers of NTUA, Kouros Nurmohamadi Baigi

The child of a refugee family from Iran, Kouros crossed to Lesbos with his family from the opposite Turkish coast in August 2019.

19-year-old Kouros Nourmohamadi Baigi is admitted to the School of Electrical Engineering of the Technical University of Athens, which was his first choice, according to the university admission criteria announced this afternoon.

The child of a refugee family from Iran, Kouros crossed to Lesvos with his family from the opposite Turkish coast in August 2019. And in three years he achieved the almost impossible. He learned Greek and with 18.25 was the second student in this year’s pan-Hellenic exams for the positive direction of the Model Lyceum of Mytilini of the University of the Aegean.

His case attracted everyone’s interest.

Prime Minister Kyriakos Mitsotakis and Minister of Immigration and Asylum Notis Mitarakis invited him and met with him. Just last Sunday he was invited to the celebration for the restoration of the Republic by the president of the Republic, Katerina Sakellaropoulou, with whom he met.
