Fraudulent email trafficked using details of an official from the Ministry of Citizen Protection – See photo
Attempts by fraudsters to deceive unsuspecting citizens by using the information of the General Secretary of Public Order Konstantinos Tsouvalas continue. According to an announcement by EL.AS, the perpetrators using these data again, in letter allegedly of competent control authorities, with imprints of the Greek flag, the Greek Police and the Ministry of Citizen Protection, try to deceive citizens – internet users, under the pretext that their recipient is under investigation by police or judicial authorities for an alleged case of pornography and other crimes.
This particular message as well as others like it are sent by perpetrators who are obviously trying to deceive – mislead the citizens and subsequently obtain an illegal financial benefit.
In this context it is announced that, the text – message which transmitted via electronic mail ( email ), as supposedly letter of the Secretary Generalwhich bears his name but in a different capacity or misspelled (Tsouvilas, Officer, Greek police officer in charge of civil protection with the European office, in collaboration with the National Center for the Analysis of Pornographic Images CNAIP et al.) as well as a false signature and seal, it is obviously forged and fraudulent.
EL.AS appeals to citizens not to respond and to delete this or other similar messages as well as “not to open” the attached files to avoid being infected by malicious software.
It is recalled that, in the last period of time, a systematic attempt to deceive has been identified with similar texts – messages using the details of officials of the Ministry of Citizen Protection.
