Panhellenic 2022: She went to the same school as her son – her daughter “read her”

After her son’s admission to TEFAA Komotini, Dora Kostopoulou made the decision to take the exams herself the following year, with her only goal being the same school.

Huge success for the nurse – student and mother Gifts of Kostopoulou from Pieria, who went to TEFAA Komotini at the age of 46, where she will be in the same classes as her son Kostis, since he had gone to the same school last year.

Dora Kostopoulou started her “student” journey at the Esperino EPAL Katerinis, when her two children had gone to the schools of their choice and she decided that she had to do something for herself. In the second year and after the admission of Kostis’ son, at TEFAA Komotini, she made the decision to take the exams herself the following year, with her only goal being the same school, as she pointed out to GRTimes.gr.

“It’s a big battle for the Panhellenic women for a working mother. I decided to give when my children grew up, so I told myself I had to do something for me too. My son is in TEFFA Komotini since last year and my daughter in Biological Applications in Ioannina, in the 5th year. My kids are proud and so is the husband. His support played an important role in the result, as well as all the people close to me,” said the future student.

Mrs. Kostopoulou works as a nurse at the Katerinis Health Center and lives in the village of Peristasi in Pieria. “Essentially, in the evenings I would return from my shift at the Health Center and directly open the books to read, even just a little… My daughter helped me a lot with the general education lessons and especially with mathematics, giving me some small tips.”

As far as she was concerned, the part that gave her the most difficulty during the exams was the sports she had to give to get into that particular section. “I only trained for a week before the games, so I’m very proud that I managed to get through them. Personally, I had no anxiety at all when I went to write the Panhellenic exams. Don’t forget that I experienced this twice with my children, so my anxiety was completely “gone”. I was equally trying to calm down my fellow candidates, who were stressed in the classroom, so that they would give their best”, added Dora Kostopoulou.

Despite the difficulties, due to her work and the commitments she has, she set herself the goal of finishing school normally and always looking at things with optimism and a positive attitude. “My first and only goal was the TEFFA in Komotini. At my age you know exactly what you like and what you want, so I didn’t have any other option in mind. Also, at a younger age I did track and field for years, so I liked the thought of going to this particular school.”

Finally, wanting to send a message to all the children who gave Panhellenics, she emphasized that they do not need to be anxious and that if they do not pass the first time, they should try again. “Even if some kids failed this year, to try again and never give up. The only thing certain about each child is that he will “find” his way, because life does not end at the Panhellenic Courts.
