Rape of a 14-year-old girl on an island: The policeman is available

The 53-year-old police officer who is accused of indiscretion at the expense of a 14-year-old girl was suspended, while at the same time the Hellenic Police Headquarters ordered the conduct of a Sworn Administrative Examination.

According to ELAS, a complaint was filed by a 14-year-old girl and her parents, according to which the police officer, taking advantage of his status as a volleyball coach in an island club, performed, at least since January 2022, repeated sexual acts with the minor . At the same time, from May 2022, using a profile in an online application, he systematically attempted to lure the minor into pornographic performances.

A relevant case file was created for the case, in the context of which the minor was ordered to be examined by a medical examiner, while in addition during the preliminary investigation it emerged that the above had made obscene gestures (groping) at the expense of another minor.

Searches followed at his home and vehicles, where a large amount of digital evidence was found and confiscated (mobile phones, computers, video cameras, tablets, digital storage media, etc.).

The case file was submitted to the competent prosecuting authority and the case was referred to a main investigation, while subsequently a relevant warrant was issued under which the police officer was arrested.

The arrested person was taken to the competent prosecuting authority.
