Police arrested the 74-year-old, who was in illegal possession of the gun and failed to comply with the terms of its safe custody, as well as the 38-year-old father of the two children, who is charged with neglecting the supervision of minors, and they were subsequently released.
Out of danger is being treated at the “Karamandaneio” Children’s Hospital of Patras the 9-year-old, who was accidentally shot, according to the police, by her 11-year-old brother, in the community of Zacholis, in western Corinthia.
In particular, according to the police, the 74-year-old grandfather of the two children had left a shotgun in public view, as a result of which the 11-year-old took it.
Then, Mr 11-year-old accidentally shot once and injured his 9-year-old sister in the arm.
Immediately after, the 9-year-old was taken to the local health center, where, after providing first aid, it was deemed necessary to transfer her to the “Karamandanio” hospital.
In the meantime, the police arrested the 74-year-old, who illegally possessed the gun and did not comply with the conditions of its safe custody, as well as the 38-year-old father of the two children, who is accused of neglecting the supervision of minors.
The two arrested were later released, following a verbal order from the prosecutor.
