The two femicides within a few hours have caused shock in Zakynthos with the perpetrator a 49-year-old man and the victim a 41-year-old woman as well as in Rethymnon with a 56-year-old victim who was murdered by her husband, after she had previously asked him for a divorce.

It was preceded by yesterday’s femicide in Rethymnon when a 56-year-old woman was murdered by her husband, after she had previously asked him for a divorce.
In Tsilivi Zakynthos, the 41-year-old met a horrible death at the hands of her husband, a 41-year-old woman found. The 49-year-old perpetrator beat her and then slaughtered the woman with a kitchen knife, with whom they had three children, aged 19, 14 and 8 respectively.
The police officers who were called to the scene after a call from neighbors about a domestic incident, found the woman covered in blood and seriously injured. An ambulance was immediately called, but the unfortunate woman died a few minutes after arriving at the hospital. He suffered bruises and abrasions, as well as stab wounds to his neck and chest.
At 21:30 on Sunday night, the unfortunate woman went to the police station and filed a complaint against the 49-year-old man, as he had beaten her a few minutes earlier. At 10:30 p.m. she returned home and then the perpetrator, in a rage, hit her and pulled her by the hair shouting that he was going to kill her. A few minutes later, the neighbor went to the woman’s house where she found her in a pool of blood, with a kitchen knife next to her, the blade of which was bent from the blows to her body.
On June 22, the perpetrator was convicted of domestic violence against the 41-year-old woman and was forbidden to approach her house within 100 meters. The woman, however, felt sorry for him as she had nowhere to stay and hosted him in her house, until last night he killed her. It was located after extensive searches in the Keri area.
The femicide in Zakynthos comes just a few hours after the murder of another woman in Rethymno, Crete. 56-year-old Georgia was stabbed to death at the hands of her 60-year-old husband when she asked him for a divorce. The son of the unfortunate woman informed the police himself, while the perpetrator surrendered and will be brought before the investigator.
