Until August 5, journalists interested in environmental coverage can compete for a trip to the Amazon in the Thomas Lovejoy Memorial contest, promoted by the United Nations Foundation.
Ten professionals will be selected for a visit to Manaus and to the Km 41 camp, a reserve located to the north of the capital of Amazonas where research on biodiversity takes place, to understand the effects of climate change on the forest.
Within six months after the trip, journalists must publish between two and four articles on the topic, which address issues of deforestation, biodiversity and sustainable development.
To apply, you must have at least three years of professional experience. The contest covers major expenses, including accommodation, airfare, and most food expenses.
The trip will take place the week of October 17, about a month before COP27 (United Nations Conference on Climate Change).
