The specific disclosure, in accordance with the relevant Prosecutor’s Order, aims to protect society as a whole and to more easily realize the State’s claim for the inferno of the crimes committed, as well as to certify crimes punishable as felonies or misdemeanors with intent (in this case crimes during sexual freedom) and specifically in identifying additional victims of rape or indecent acts, a process which otherwise becomes absolutely difficult.
In this context, citizens are requested to contact the telephone numbers 210-8779700 and 10301 of the Security Forces Internal Affairs Service, to provide any relevant information. It is noted that the anonymity and confidentiality of the communication is guaranteed.
It is pointed out that this publication is for a period of three (3) months, according to the Prosecutor’s Order. Beyond this time limit, the retention and/or reproduction of the disclosure of the above data is not permitted and is against the law.
The police officer accused of sexual acts with or in front of minors who turned 12 and not 15 years old, abuse of minors in sexual acts and attracting children for sexual reasons, was arrested by the Internal Affairs Service of the Security Forces yesterday afternoon, Friday 29 July 2022, after an arrest warrant
A complaint was filed by a minor and her parents, according to which the police officer, taking advantage of his status as a sports coach, performed repeated sexual acts with the minor at least since January 2022, while at least since May 2022, using a profile in an online application he systematically tried to lure the minor into pornographic performances.
A relevant case file was created for the case, in the context of which the minor was ordered to be examined by a medical examiner, while in addition during the preliminary investigation it emerged that the above had made obscene gestures (groping) at the expense of another minor.
Searches followed at his home and vehicles, where a large amount of digital evidence was found and confiscated (mobile phones, computers, video cameras, tablets, digital storage media, etc.).
The case file was submitted to the competent prosecuting authority and the case was referred to a main investigation, while a relevant warrant was subsequently issued under which the police officer was arrested.
The arrested person was taken to the competent prosecuting authority.
