The society of Serres is shocked by the death of the 38-year-old pregnant woman, Parthena (Patti) Koutmeridou, who left defeated by the coronavirus.
“I knew she was unvaccinated, we had never discussed it,” said family friend and doctor Nelly Efthymiou, speaking on SKAI TV and the “Today” show. She added that although she knew she was a doctor, the 38-year-old never asked her for her opinion on vaccines.
“The whole city, the whole of Greece was sad for Patti because we all loved her. We love the whole Koutmeridou family. It is a very dear family in Serres and it is a pity that it was left unvaccinated, it is a pity that it got sick. “Perhaps she could not imagine the outcome of her illness,” said Ms. Efthymiou.
According to Ms. Efthymiou, Parthena Koutmeridou’s husband is also unvaccinated, but the rest of her family is vaccinated. For the gynecologist who was watching the 38-year-old, Ms. Efthimiou said that he is a very serious scientist and advocate of vaccines.
“All doctors are obliged to push our clients to vaccinate. “Those who do not recommend vaccination, I do not think they have gone out of university, they are not considered doctors. I think we should throw them out of the medical associations to intervene to send them to disciplinary because lives are lost really unjustly,” he said.
