Eleven new important projects, totaling approximately 38 million euros, in the same number of municipalities throughout Greece are financed by the National Development Program of the Ministry of the Interior.

These are projects, small and large, important for everyone and especially for the youth, as most of them concern sports areas.

In particular, the distribution is as follows:

Municipality of Veria: 13,575,209 euros for the construction of an indoor gym and the renovation of an outdoor activity area at the entrance of the city.

– Municipality of Western Lesvos: 7,779,965 euros for the construction of an indoor bioclimatic gym in Kalloni.

Municipality of Oreokastro: 5,773,240 euros for energy upgrading and installation of a special roof at the swimming pool.

Municipality of Ilion: 4,500,000 euros for the construction of a swimming pool.

Municipality of Galatsi: 3,200,000 euros for the renovation and connection of the common area in O.T. 111/t.99, with the aim of improving open spaces.

Municipality of Karpenisi: 850,000 euros for the reconstruction of a storm drain in part of Karpenisioti street.

Municipality of Agrinio: 780,000 euros for the supply and installation of an air-supported dome to house sports facilities.

Municipality of Skydra: 700,000 euros for internal road construction.

– Municipality of Preveza: 516,350 euros for maintenance and upgrading of the outdoor swimming pool.

Municipality of Rethymno: 200,000 euros for the renovation and upgrade of the “Arsis Varon” building “Arkadi”.

Municipality of Leipsic: 760,000 euros for the purchase of real estate to cover the housing needs of civil servants who serve on the island (teachers, health personnel, coast guard, police, etc.).

The Minister of the Interior, Thodoris Livanios, addressed his warm thanks to the Deputy Minister of National Economy and Finance, Nikos Papathanasis and the Directorate of Economic and Development Policy of the Ministry of the Interior, stating the following:

“At the Ministry of the Interior, we continue to support the country’s municipalities in practice by providing the necessary financial tools for the implementation of projects aimed at improving the quality of life of all residents, while strengthening Local Self-Government.

It is now up to the eleven municipalities to quickly proceed with all the tendering procedures, in order for these projects to be implemented and delivered to the local communities.”
