The wild boar persecution crews are in action – They are causing damage to crops

by

The administration and the members of the Ioannina Hunting Association are trying to deal with the “armies” of wild boars with chase teams

And last weekend, and the one to come, the prosecution crews, consisting of hunters, game wardens and members of the Hunting Federation, will be in places where large populations of wild boars are observed, in order to contribute to their removal, as the president of the Hunting Association reported Giorgos Saraliotis of Ioannina.

The nuisances, moreover, mainly from cultivators, in areas such as the plain of Lapsista, but also from residents of other areas throughout the prefecture, are continuous, since the animals are looking for food, destroying gardens, crops and fences in their path.

The goal is to increase permits

In the meantime, in view of the start of the hunting season, the “bet” of the Association’s management is to issue the largest number of permits. The process has started with the cost of permits being at pre-coronavirus levels, without increases or reductions, as was the case last year due to the reduction of the hunting season due to the implementation of restrictive measures.

Thus, the license visa starts at 113.26 euros for the local one, 133.26 euros for the regional one and 163.26 euros for the general one. Nine lucky ones, however, who will be drawn based on the serial number of the license, will win shotguns at the end of December.
Finally, the traditional meeting of the hunting family will take place this year on September 4, at Prophet Elias in Mouzakai.
