The 14-year-old student from a school in Northern Greece broke down describing what she experienced from her classmate and her teacher who made her life hell
The student who fell bowling victim “breaks her silence” and speaks for the first time about the nightmare she lived in, a nightmare that dramatically changed her life. “I could never have imagined that I would become a bowling victim myself. All these years I suffer, I say, my God, why would this happen to me, why to me?”, she said speaking to GRtimes.gr.
Another victim of a scourge of modern society and especially the youth, experienced a nightmare. Lia’s case, which came to light through GRTimes.gr, apparently touched the world. In the case of the then 14-year-old student, everything that happened remains to this day – even though about four years have passed – a big wound, which does not heal.
Leah got to the point where she was thinking not of light, but of black. At one point, as she confesses, she didn’t know if she had any more strength to continue living.
“The only thing that has lasted until today and I continue to fight, although I have suffered psychologically from what happened to me, is my parents, their love and the responsibility I felt towards them to never upset them. I don’t know where things could have gonehonestly, it’s something I can’t give an answer”, he notes characteristically and explains the reason he decided to talk about what he experienced.
What Lia said in detail
“I decided to talk about what happened to me. It wasn’t easy for me, believe me. All these years I have been suffering. The images from that period will never leave my life, my mind, my soul. Words spoken with such hatred and malice by a classmate of mine. Who decided to verbally attack me, bully me, focusing on my appearance.
“Peleka… glasses, abnormal… lesbian… whore…” Words, curses, with an abusive sound and tone. For a 14-year-old girl to hear all this every day… Do you think about it? Every day… The same torture. I was trying to hide it from my parents, I didn’t want them to know that this was happening, I didn’t want to upset them…
Until one day enough is enough. Since not only did my classmate stop the verbal abuse but he even attacked me tearing my bag! I left terrified. Home…. to be able to go home… I couldn’t take it anymore, I started crying.
I arrive, my parents see me, they are shocked… I tell them everything! They tried to calm me down, they are such kind and good-hearted people and all they told me was that I should be fine and that everything would be fixed. I didn’t want to go to another school, I mean, what do they call it? I couldn’t take it anymore.
They go, discuss it with the principal, who promises to do something, but in the end did nothing. And he continued… At some point he stopped.
We went to high school, but unfortunately all this had already overwhelmed me. I was pushing myself to look good. I was not. I didn’t want to hang out, I didn’t even want to go to school. And this is being told by a girl who was an excellent student, first in all subjects. You can find out.
I wanted to study, I wanted to be an actor. After that, I lost myself, I lost me. And unfortunately, all those thoughts and dark feelings came back. I saw no light, only darkness”he revealed.
Today and after finishing school she is fighting to win her life again. As she says, she owes it to herself and her wonderful parents.
“I’m trying to stand on my feet, many problems have appeared in these four, martyr years. Psychologists, treatments, drugs, self-isolation…. But I have to fight. Now is the time to talk about it. To hear all the children facing the same problem, that they need to talk.
I read, I also learned about the existence of the Live Without Bullying platform and I think that now, everyone should speak up. To the parents first of all. To the parents, so they know exactly what’s going on. That’s the message I want to send to everyone.”Leah notes excitedly.
