DAP-NDFK: Resolution on facilitating access within the university institutions of people with disabilities

Resolution on facilitating access within university institutions for people with disabilities by DAP-NDFK. The announcement in detail:

“The main goal and principle of education is to provide equal opportunities to male and female students regardless of their learning or financial level. At a time when people are constantly seeking knowledge and where weaknesses and needs for re-education and retraining are constantly emerging, so that young people can claim a better educational level and a better working future, everyone’s entrance to university is a prerequisite. »

On the occasion of the International Day of Persons with Disabilities and with the aim of facilitating equal integration in the student community, we propose:

• The remodeling of the university chairs so that female students in wheelchairs can be installed and monitored unhindered.
• The placement of specialists of parallel support – movement assistants – escorts, at the time of teaching or examination.
• The construction, where it has not already been foreseen, of ramps and the maintenance of the elevators in the buildings of the HEIs in order for their easy access within the premises of the universities.
• The construction of at least one easily accessible sanitary area, for people with special needs.
• The design of didactic, audiovisual materials, books in Braille or in tangible form.
