A “life bridge” was erected in the afternoon for a 3.5-year-old boy in Thessaloniki. At 5.15 in the afternoon, the child’s parents notified the police and EKAV and within a few minutes, they went to an apartment in Kalamaria where a little boy had swallowed the strap of a watch, the patrol car crew, motorcyclists from the DIAS team and ambulance rescuers from ” Child’s smile”.
When the rescuers arrived, the child’s father with frantic efforts had managed to remove the strap, but the little one’s oxygen had dropped.
The motorcycle policemen and the patrol car were immediately mobilized to clear the way for the ambulance to take the child to the “Gennimatas” hospital.
In a post on Twitter, “Smile of the Child” reports about the incident:
“A 3.5-year-old girl who swallowed a foreign body was just saved… congratulations to the police who opened the roads for us… congratulations to our rescuers Panagiotis and Giorgos, crew of our Thessaloniki unit who received an order from EKAV… congratulations to his doctors hospital…a chain of life’.
