If the epidemiological data change, the sanitary measures will be reviewed.

Students will return to school without masks and self-tests on September 12, as the recommendation of the Committee of Experts on their optionality was accepted yesterday.

According to a joint announcement by the Ministries of Education and Health, the following will apply regarding the reopening of schools in relation to the coronavirus:

  • The use of a protective mask is optional.
  • As a general guideline, when a child shows symptoms they stay home (as with any viral infection).
  • Self-diagnosis is recommended in case of symptoms.
  • In case of a positive case, the isolation measures applicable to the general population are applied, i.e. stay in isolation for at least five days and avoid contact with other people. After five days of isolation and if there are no symptoms or the symptoms improve after five days with a complete subsidence of the fever for a 24-hour period without the use of antipyretics, isolation is stopped. Return to school with mandatory use of a high respiratory protection mask (N95 or KN95 or FFP2) or a double mask for at least another five days from the end of isolation.
  • Observance of hand hygiene.
  • Sufficient ventilation of the premises, in accordance with the applicable instructions.

However, the announcement notes that if the epidemiological data change, the sanitary measures will be reviewed.
