With two main simulation scenarios (forest fire and earthquake) completed in Samo the first pan-European educational program with participation refugees and immigrants and with funds from the Recovery Fund. This is the program that aims to integrate refugees and immigrants into the National Crisis Management and Risk Management Mechanism.

The implementation of the overall program, unique in the European Union, started symbolically with training in emergency situations, as the protection of human life is the highest level of inclusion, which facilitates a smooth transition to training in critical sectors of the Greek Economy.

An eight-member group of senior and senior officers of the Fire Brigade undertook the training of the refugees based on the program issued by the Headquarters of the Fire Brigade with a special decision of the Chief. The high-tech firefighting equipment secured through the Recovery Fund will be granted to the Samos Fire Service to enhance its work.

It is worth noting that the security protocol of PS translated into all languages as well as the fact that there was a large participation of women, among them two mothers who took part with their babies.

The refugees showed particular interest not only in their self-protection but also in the possibility of protecting the island and its inhabitants, as well as in learning the Greek Language.

All the integration programs of the Recovery Fund are implemented through the cooperation of the YMCA (integration sector) with the International Organization for Migration IOM and the general coordinator is Archpriest Dr. Calliope Saini. The Deputy Minister of Immigration and Asylum responsible for Integration, Ms. Sofia Vultepsi, was in Samos for the end of the first training module and real-time simulation exercises. Mrs. Vultepsi handed over the diplomas together with the head of the IOM ambassador Mr. Gianluca Rocco.
