Metropolitan of Messinia in SKAI: Abortions are murderous acts for the Church

by

“The limit is not how I perceive my life or my body individually. The limit is how I accept the other next to me. And the fetus is life, not a thing,” he said.

Murderous acts the Church considers them through time abortionsas pointed out by Metropolitan Chrysostomos of Messinia on SKAI TV and the “Today” show.

He clarified that he is not talking about abortions that are done for medical reasons, but about those that are done in order to “women as mothers should get rid of that which is conceived within them and because of its relationship with the mother and the father, it also has rights to life”.

Asked about cases of pregnancy in difficult circumstances, the Metropolitan said that abortion is not the way and the means to solve such problems for which the rule of law must intervene.

“It is not a matter of the Church because the state does not resolve…”, “Because it looks down and respects human life and the human person, that is why the church can never adopt abortion”emphasized Mr. Chrysostomos.

For a woman’s right to self-determinationthe metropolitan stated that there is no human right and freedom without limit.

“Is there a society without borders? Then we get to promiscuity. And the limit is not how I perceive my life or my body individually. The limit is how I accept the other next to me. And the gestating fetus is life, not a thing.” he emphasized.

He further added that the Church stands for any issue that concerns human existence, it is not simply an organization that produces social welfare. As he said, the Church comes to form standards and models of society “and for that it must have a reason. Regardless of whether this reason is acceptable to some or not.”
