There was a lot of mobility yesterday in the vaccination centers as the largest number of vaccinations was carried out from the beginning of the vaccination program, as the Deputy Minister of Digital Government, Georgios Georgantas, told SKAI.
Specifically, 120,017 vaccinations were performed, with 88,000 for the booster dose.
According to the data provided by the Undersecretary, as of last Tuesday, 150,000 first doses of vaccines and almost 1,096,000 booster doses were given to citizens of all ages.
Mr. Georgantas also noted that the commemorative dose has already been granted to 1,785,000 citizens while 1,333,000 have scheduled their appointment. As 56-57% of the beneficiaries for the third dose explained, they have declared their participation in the vaccination program.
What happens to people over 60?
The number of citizens over the age of 60 who choose to be vaccinated against COVID-19 is gradually increasing, after the introduction of the obligation.
Of the first 150,000 installments since last Tuesday, 68,000 are for citizens over the age of 60, with the Undersecretary talking about a very satisfactory number.
Yesterday, in fact, 11,000 first installment appointments were made for citizens 60+ in a total of 28,000 first installments.
Along with the appointments that have been made, it is estimated that 7.3 million citizens will have been vaccinated tomorrow.
“Those interested in the commemorative dose should constantly check the platform for new appointments”
In addition, the Undersecretary stressed that extra vaccination lines should be opened due to the mobility that prevails for the 3rd dose. “We believe that we will exceed the possibility of administering 120,000 doses per day,” he added.
He even explained that those who want to be vaccinated earlier with the third dose can check the platform for any available appointments. This is because some dates for those vaccinated with the first dose are not covered and are available again in the booster dose system. “So someone can enter the platform and look for an appointment again,” he said.
When do appointments “open” for children aged 5-11
Vaccinations for children aged 5-11 will begin on December 15. The relevant platform for booking appointments will open on Friday, December 10.
