Filippidi trial: Matika, Makripoulia, Kotsovoulou, Chalkias and Schiza are called to testify

The court adjourned for October 4.

The testimony of five new witnesses in the trial of the accused for sexual violence, Petros Filippidis, was decided by the Mixed Jury Court following a request submitted by the prosecutor of Edra for the three and the defense for the other two.

The public prosecutor asked to call the court the actresses Thalia Matika and Zeta Makripoulia as well as the assistant of the accused group leader, Alina Kotsovoulou, whose statements she considers important regarding the first of the three alleged cases for which Mr. Filippidis is on trial.

The case concerns the alleged rape of an actor in 2008 in the defendant’s dressing room at the “Ivi” theater.

For the first actress, the prosecutor said that her testimony is important as it was mentioned in the hearing that Mrs. Matika had seen the first alleged sufferer crying in the toilets of the theater. The summons of Mrs. Makripoulia, as the prosecutor said, concerns the clarification that the actress must make as to whether there was a question of substitution in the performance of the play “Kitchens” staged in 2008 at “Ivi”, as according to the first complainant the rape took place during an appointment with the accused to replace a role in the theater in question. For Mrs. Kotsovoulou, the prosecutor’s request concerns the establishment by the court if, as the alleged rape victim claims, she had called the complainant to go to “Ivi” for the role in “Kitchens”.

The judges unanimously accepted the prosecutor’s request and will call the three women to testify on October 6.

At the same time, the defense of Petros Filippidis requested that the actors Tasos Chalkias and Rania Schiza, who participated in the 2008 performance at the Ivi theater, be summoned to testify, a request that was accepted by the court.

The court adjourned for October 4.
