A hashish plantation was located by the police in a rural area of the Municipality of Echedoro, on the outskirts of Thessaloniki, while in the area of Sindos an underground space was located that was used by the perpetrator to dry the plants.
Police officers of the General Affairs Department of the Narcotics Prosecution Sub-Directorate of Thessaloniki proceeded to arrest a 44-year-old citizen, when in the context of an intensive and thorough investigation, they determined his activity related to the cultivation of cannabis seedlings and their further trafficking.
More specifically, in a police operation that took place yesterday 15-09-2022, a check was made on the aforementioned man and searches were carried out in a single-family house where he lives and in an underground space he used in the area of Sindos, but also in a rural area of the Municipality of Echedoro – which due to position was not visible and difficult to access-, where the hemp seedlings were cultivated, during which they were found and confiscated in total:
• (27) hemp seedlings 1.98 to 2.52 meters in height, which were uprooted,
• (201) semi-dried hemp branches with a total weight of 10 kilograms and 700 grams inside the underground space used for drying,
• Quantities of raw cannabis,
• Leaves and branches of the plant he had collected,
• equipment for growing seedlings and
• mobile phone that he used for his meetings.
The arrested person will be taken to the competent Prosecutor.
