Initially, tension broke out between young people and police forces on the sidelines of a concert in Aristotle, when a group of people started throwing stones at the police forces guarding the library.

Police responded by using chemicals and stun grenades to disperse the crowd.

Then a large number of people gathered in the Chamber where new incidents broke out with throwing of objects and Molotov cocktails by the youths and chemicals, flash grenades and water by the police

People, mainly from the anti-authoritarian space, continued for some time the stone war with the police forces along Egnatia. “Avra” tried several times to disperse the crowd.

The police made arrests.

The situation was defused just before 2am
