Love Story, famous nightclub in São Paulo, should only reopen in January 2023

Love Story, a nightclub that rocked the nights of downtown São Paulo, is being transformed into a kind of cabaret. With the works still in progress, the new Love Cabaret, as it will be called, is scheduled to open only next year.

Still in the works phase, which are being commanded by the Todos Arquitetura office, the place was expected to be reopened this month. Then the date changed to October. Now, the public should only return to occupy the space and spend the night there in January of next year.

Closed in 2018, the nightclub was known as “the house of all houses” and gathered people when dawn was coming to an end and the day began to dawn. Who will give a new purpose to the old icon of São Paulo bohemia is the businessman Facundo Guerra, alongside Cairê Aoas, who controls the Fábrica de Bars, and Lily Scott, a businesswoman known in São Paulo’s nightlife.

The change will not only be physical, but conceptual. The old aura and memory of the address will still remain, but now it will shed light on the body, the erotic and love, say the new owners. The red and black, which marked the “hellish” atmosphere of Love Story, will be re-signified with colors that represent diversity, formed by the diamond.

More contemporary, the place is being revamped to receive performances by artists who are not so well known to the public. They will perform on a stage in the center lane, with tables scattered around, which will seat up to 250 people.

The house will be open from Tuesday to Saturday, from 7 pm to 1 am, and will host five shows per night. The programming schedule should include circus, trans, drag and BDSM presentations — an acronym for sexual practices linked to sadomasochism.
