Particularly touching scenes unfolded at noon in the First Cemetery of Athens where relatives and friends said goodbye to their beloved actress, Martha Karagiannis who passed away at the age of 83.
Her fraternal friend, Dora Douma, the psychiatrist Dimitris Souras, the President of SEH, Spyros Bibilas, Anna Fonsou, Zozo Sapountzakis, Makis Delaportas, Fotis Metaxopoulos, Dimitris Papazoglou, Aliki Katsavou, wife of Costas Voutsas, Mary Ioannidou and many other actors and ordinary people were at the cemetery to say goodbye to the great lady of Greek cinema.
“Martha Karagianni was a part of my life. I didn’t love Martha because she was a star of Greek cinema. I met her as an honest and honest person with a will to live” said her ex-husband Marthas Karagiannis, Vassilis Konstantinou.
Zozo Sapoutzaki was particularly moved, who caressed her friend’s coffin saying “Hello Marthoula”.
“We had dreams together, but she laughed at me because she left alone. At our last meeting he could not speak to me well in the bed he was in. He was happy and shook my hand. Martha and I love each other. To wait for me” said Zozo Sapoutzaki.
“I’m saying goodbye to a lifelong friend. For me Martha was not just a colleague, she was truly a friend of my heart. From a small child close to her until the end” said Makis Delaportas.

The body of Martha Karagiannis will be transferred to the Ritsona crematorium where it will be cremated as she had requested.
