Personal doctor: Activation of the electronic appointment system from today

From today, October 1st, it will be activated system of electronic appointments to the personal doctoran easy and familiar procedure for citizens as they used to make the appointment for vaccination against Covid-19 in the same way.

The first appointment will last 30 minutes and will be combined with a package of free tests, to start writing the medical file. The duration of the following appointments will be 15 minutes.

It is the duty of all personal physicians to contact registered citizens to complete their medical records, even if they do not come for an appointment.

The goal is for the whole population, the healthy population, not necessarily the people who are sick, to enter into a process early on to have a doctor do free of charge preventive tests without involvement and to create a file. The personal physician provides comprehensive and continuous care to the individual in order to prevent disease and promote health.

In the two months of implementation of the institution of the personal doctor, more than 4,200,000 citizens over 16 years of age and 3,400 doctors, 1,200 from the private sector and 2,200 from the public sector, have registered in the system.

The Ministry of Health proceeded with the inclusion in the institution of the personal doctor – in addition to pathologists and general practitioners – of all pathological specialties and the contracts will be ready at the beginning of October, so that there is a sufficient number of doctors. According to the decision, as Personal Physicians, specialty doctors with basic training in Pathology are also defined, namely: a) hematology, b) gastroenterology, c) endocrinology-diabetology, d) cardiology, e) neurology, f) nephrology, g) rheumatology, h) pathological oncology, i) pulmonology-tuberculology and j) physical medicine and rehabilitation, who practice a liberal profession and maintain a private practice.

It is noted that an extension is being given to the application of disincentives for not registering with the personal doctor for December 1st. In other words, he will have an additional participation of 10%, in addition to his participation rate determined on a case-by-case basis, in the pharmaceutical expenses for laboratory and diagnostic tests and operations, in hospitalizations in private clinics and in other benefits. From 1/1/2023 the above provisions are increased by 10%.

Those who register will have priority from 1/1/2023, when planning their regular outpatient visits in public secondary and tertiary health care units.

The citizen registers with a personal physician by free choice, through the personal physician registration platform (https://ehealth.gov.gr/p-rv/p), where entry is made with the taxisnet codes and the citizen’s AMKA, in person in a P.F.Y health structure or to a personal physician, through pharmacies.
