Cinematic robbery attempt in Thessaloniki: Policemen in uniform stormed in – Four arrests

The four would-be robbers were particularly inventive in their method of action, who on Wednesday morning broke into a shop in Thessaloniki to rob it and barricaded themselves inside.

According to information from thestival.gr, the four perpetrators entered the store pretending to be police officers. It is noted that inside the store were found a bulletproof vest and a hat, on which the word “police” was written.

The same information states that one of the perpetrators was wearing them when they decided to break into the store on Monastirio Street, in order to be more convincing.

The chronicle of the robbery

It all started shortly after 10:30 when the four perpetrators broke into the mobile phone shop in the Vardari area. According to information, one of them was holding an air gun.

The store employee apparently realized that the individuals were not actually police officers and subsequently pressed the panic button. At the same time, the same information states that when the robbers broke into the store, the shutters at the entrance were lowered automatically, as a result of which the perpetrators were trapped inside, as well as the staff of the store.

Strong police forces immediately rushed to the scene and cordoned off the area in front of the store. A little while later, the police managed to enter the store and arrest the four perpetrators.
