Patras: Over two tons of contraband cigarettes and tobacco were found by EL.AS in a warehouse

Patras Police officers found large amounts of contraband tobacco products, after checking a business and warehouse in the area of ​​Aegialia, and proceeded to arrest a 47-year-old man.

In particular, according to the police, after using the information gathered by the Patras Police officers on the case, they conducted a search in a business and a warehouse in the area of ​​Aegialia, where they found two tons and 79 kilograms of contraband tobacco and cigarettes divided into more than 700 packs and 7,748 contraband packs of cigarettes.

They also found a pistol, with a magazine containing six 9mm rounds and a pistol magazine containing eight 9mm rounds, three carbines and a laser sight, three gun and revolver dummies, a firearm silencer, two pocket knives and a metal sword with a total length of 85cm , 136 9mm cartridges, 1,191 hunting cartridges, two fake license plates, and the amount of money of 41,305 euros.

A case file was filed against the arrested person, who will be taken to the prosecutor, for violation of the National Customs Code, the law on weapons and forgery, while according to the police, the evaded duties and taxes exceed 120,000 euros.
