Each intubated patient has a series of priorities in the EKAB information system. Although every day in the information system of the Ministry of Health appear more than 40 empty beds, we have patients who wait 10-15 days outside the ICU and in fact many of them lose their lives. The Ministry of Health constantly announces that the coverage in the ICU is 97% -98%, estimating that there are empty beds when more than 120 patients are outside the ICU. We blame other countries that move, such as Germany, Italy, intubated patients and admit that the ICUs are full, while we with 98% coverage have 120 patients outside the ICU. Doctors come out and complain that choices are made based on age criteria and instead of investigating the criminal responsibilities in the system, POEDIN and the doctors who make the complaints are accused of spreading false news. The system must provide ICU to all intubated patients. As long as it does not do so and patients remain and lose their lives outside, the system commits crimes and the prosecution must investigate them. “That is why on Monday we will submit a report to the prosecutor in order to be held accountable and mainly so that the common mortals, all the citizens, find the ICU and do not lose their lives”, he stated characteristically.

Asked if he insists on complaints about Vip patients, he noted that “what we said is that more than 40 empty beds appear in the system every day and there are over 120 intubated patients and they do not occupy them. This is a matter for the prosecution to see why there are 120 patients out. “We have to stand up for the patients who are lost and not complain because we say that choices are made.”

He added that all combat doctors are on the side of POEDIN and will go to testify to the prosecutor.
