Full Glass: Bourbon County 2021 will only have 4 hours on sale, for R$ 180

One of the most awaited labels by brewers is already among us. Goose Island’s Bourbon County 2021 is here…but it’s almost gone.

It is explained: the beer was initially launched for sale online, but the stock quickly sold out. So there are still two chances to prove it.

The first is this Saturday (15), called Bourbon Day. For just four hours, between 12pm and 4pm, customers will be able to buy the 500 ml bottle for R$180, the same price as last year. The most excited can also buy a personalized cup, for R$ 35.

On the same Saturday it is possible to book a presence in another action: the brewery of Largo da Batata, in Pinheiros, will promote a tasting with the last three editions of Bourbon County: 2019, 2020 and 2021, for R$ 190. The tasting will only be in the October 24th, but reservations must be made during Bourbon Day.

A liqueur, potent, dark beer, Bourbon County is a special and limited edition from the Chicago brewery —which belongs to the Ambev portfolio—, aged in bourbon barrels. In this case, a blend from three different distilleries, the same as the previous year (Heaven Hill, Wild Turkey and Buffalo Trace).

The 2021 edition has 14.4% alcohol and 60 IBU (bitterness unit that exceeds 100), with flavors reminiscent of chocolate, vanilla and whiskey. Unlike Chicago, which takes the year’s edition, here we always get a batch from the previous year.

Unlike previous editions, this year Goose Island only brought the bottled version. No beer. The brewery also declined to disclose the number of bottles (or liters) available for sale, but apparently not many.
