The municipalities in the Dodecanese are on alert for bad weather

Regional and municipal businesses in Rhodes and the other islands of the Dodecanese are on alert for the possibility of problems from heavy rainfall.

Earlier in the afternoon there were heavy rains in Rhodes, Karpathos and Kasos, without causing any problems.

A broad meeting was held in Rhodes under the mayor Antonis Kambourakis on the bad weather and the coordination of all the agencies of the island, while an urgent message via mobile phones was sent on Saturday afternoon by the Ministry of Climate Crisis and Civil Protection to the residents of Rhodes, Karpathos , of Kasos, Kastelorizos and Halkis, warning of possible dangerous weather phenomena in the next 24 hours in their area and calling on them to avoid unnecessary movements.

Mr. Kambourakis gave clear orders and directions to all the agencies involved, for coordination and immediate mobilization with the aim of effectively dealing with the needs that may arise.

Afterwards, a teleconference was held between the mayor, the village vice-mayors, as well as the presidents of the local communities, from whom Mr. Kambourakis asked to be on constant alert and to ensure that the necessary and foreseen measures are taken immediately.
